Abuja, Nigeria – October 2nd, 2025: The Alumni Association of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (AANI) is set to establish a world-class Advocacy and Reflection Center (ARC) in Abuja. The flagship project aims to promote national dialogue, strategic reflection, and policy incubation, cementing AANI's commitment to shaping Nigeria's future.

AANI President Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor revealed this while receiving the report of the AANI Lands and Assets Management Committee at the AANI National Secretariat in Abuja today. 

According to Ambassador Okafor, "the ARC is a legacy platform that will outlive us, amplify our impact, and serve as AANI's physical and intellectual asset in perpetuity." He said the project will be pursued under a BOT model, where AANI retains full ownership of the land. Upon completion and BOT expiry, he said full control and operation of the entire center will revert to AANI.

He explained that the next phase of the project involves partner engagement, concept design, and mobilization and invited partners, stakeholders, and well-wishers to join this noble initiative. He stressed the commitment of the AANI EXCO to transparency and excellence in delivering the bold vision and called on all AANI members, NIPSS, development partners, corporate organizations, and other stakeholders to participate actively in building not just a structure—but a legacy for generations of nation-builders, towards a better society.

Earlier, the Chairman of the AANI Lands and Assets Committee and past AANI President, Engr. M.G. Umar, informed Ambassador Okafor that there is an encroachment on the AANI land, but steps are being taken to address it. He said AANI has already secured the Certificate of Occupancy of the property and recently paid all the arrears of the Ground Rent. He also informed the AANI President that plans are underway to further secure the property with a perimeter fence.

The AANI Advocacy and Reflection Center will be built on AANI's 13,000 square meters land  in Piwoyi  village, Lugbe District, off Airport Road, Abuja, and will serve as a hub for national dialogue, strategic reflection, and policy incubation. It will also house a leadership museum and digital research archive, multimedia center, and a platform for hosting conferences, leadership retreats, and stakeholder roundtables.
