Speaking at a meeting with Nigerians in Japan during the Tokyo International Conference on African Development, Tinubu urged them not to stay away while the country is undergoing reforms.

He said some citizens have already started returning, noting that national growth requires the effort of everyone, whether at home or abroad. “If you stay away, who will build it?” the President asked.

Tinubu highlighted progress in areas such as passport issuance, healthcare, investment reforms and business competitiveness. He also encouraged the Diaspora community to act as ambassadors by projecting a positive image of Nigeria.

“Development is not the responsibility of government alone. It belongs to all of us. Only by joining hands can we take the place we are meant to occupy,” he said.

The Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Enoh, and NASENI chief executive, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, also spoke on ongoing government programmes.

Tinubu concluded with optimism, saying Nigeria is on the rise and every citizen has a role to play in building a stronger, prosperous nation.
