Marafa, Supporters Quit APC After Kaduna Meeting

The decision followed a two-day consultative meeting of the Kabiru Marafa Forum, which held in Kaduna on August 27 and 28, 2025, and drew representatives from all 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

According to the communiqué released at the end of the meeting, members of the forum reviewed the worsening security situation, political setbacks, and developmental challenges facing Zamfara before unanimously agreeing to quit the ruling party.

The statement was endorsed by key forum leaders, including Comrade Bashir Muhammad Mafara as Chairman, Dr. Mannir Bature Tsafe as Secretary, alongside Hon. Muzakkiru Sidi Bawa, Hon. Hussaini Dan Isah, Engr. Ibrahim Jekada Dansadau, Engr. Sani Garba Gusau, Hon. Bello Soja Bakyasuwa, and Mansur Haruna.

Marafa, who served as Senator between 2011 and 2019, did not disclose his next political move but hinted that consultations are ongoing with stakeholders across the state.
