The training, organised through the Lagos State Agricultural Development Authority, focused on export readiness, quality control, international market standards, and access to government support for agro-export ventures.

Speaking at a sensitisation workshop held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ikeja, the Coordinating Director of the authority, Mrs. Aderonke Toju-Tubi, said the programme was designed to empower farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to compete globally.

Represented by the Director of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr. Yunusa Yussuf, Toju-Tubi explained that Lagos State is working to create an enabling environment that will allow local producers and exporters to take advantage of international market opportunities.

She noted that agricultural export not only boosts farmers’ incomes but also strengthens food value chains, generates foreign exchange, and promotes economic growth.

Participants at the workshop commended the government’s initiative, saying the knowledge gained would help them meet global standards and expand their businesses beyond local markets.
